Cooling off in the Sprinkles

Today was a hot one, and the girls were home alone. So, Reese, Bree, and mommy went to Wal-Mart and splurged on a sprinkler-ball. Reese liked it at first, but she spent most of her time taking drinks out of the sprinkles. Then the two neighbor kids came over, and suddenly the ball transformed into a sphere of fun!! Reese was in her clothes and she was soaked to the bone when all was said and done!

Is Aubree really FIVE Weeks Old?

Can't believe our little girl is already 5 weeks old. She's doing wonderful. She's not a real fussy baby. We can usually figure out what she needs in a matter of a couple of minutes without too much stress. Bree is focusing on objects, starting to look at us, and becomming much stronger. It's so fun to see her growing and changing, especially since Reese's milestones are so recent in our minds. We talk about how amazing it is that only 18 months ago, Reese was only able to do what Bree is doing. That's a crazy feeling and thought, because Reese has come so far and we have an idea of what Bree will be like already (with Reese we were clueless because we didn't have any point of reference). She's still got auburn hair and blue eyes. We went to her one month health check on Monday, August 10th. She is 22 inches (75%ile) and 9 pounds 6 ounces (50%ile). She was 19 inches and 7 pounds 9.8 ounces at birth. We are glad she is growing so well, but we'll have to be getting her some new sleepers, because her long gets are looking pretty ridiculous in those short pants!

Diva Daddy-Need I say more than...

....thanks Reese?!?! While visiting gradma B., grandpa B., uncle Ryan, aunt Cindy, and cousin Yvonne in Chippewa Falls, WI for dinner one night, Reese thought daddy needed a little primping! Sorry, Chad. You're a trooper! :)

Kies Girls Visit

Kate Kies (a good friend and colleague from Pleasant View Elementary School in Iowa) and her two girls Caidence (4) and Peyton (19 mos.) came to visit us and help out for three days. We had a ton of fun with the girls. We went to parks, played outside, and just hung out. Kate helped me around the house and allowed me to take a good 2+ hour nap one day...much needed!

Daddy's Week at the Dunn County Fair

This week Chad was busy! He had a booth at the Dunn County fair here in Menomonie from Wednesday-Sunday. He talked to hundreds of people, gave out 100 t-shirts promoting Clear Connection Chiropractic, had a drawing for $100 Visa gift card, had people complete a health survey, and offered a free new patient consultation. After such a busy week/weekend of working at the office and the fair, he had 3 new patients today and 28 total patients! A busy day!!! My brother, Joe, went out to the fair to help Chad. It was a good time for them to hang out since they haven't seen each other in a long time. Joe's here from Taiwan for a month.

A Day at Como Park Zoo

Mommy, Daddy, Reese, and Aubree ventured to Como Park Zoo in St. Paul, MN on Saturday. We were out the door only 15 minutes behind schedule at 8:45 and spent the entire day at the zoo. Reese LOVED the zoo. We brought our Sit and Stand stroller with us; Reese was on and off that stroller for 6 hours of zoo explorations!! Some of the highlights were: Sparky the Sea Lion show, monkeys, fish, the lion roaring, butterfly garden (one landed on Bree), riding the train and cars, and playing in the kids' room in the Botanical Garden. Bree didn't get as much out of the trip as Reese did, but she did well, too!

Is it already 16 days since Aubree's birth?

Well. We can't believe that it's been over two weeks since Aubree's birth. Hopefully time slows down a little bit, because it really does seem like yesterday that we were at Sacred Heart with our newest addition! Things are going well with the two. Surprisingly, we have already adjusted to having two kids! Aubree is so good. She's a very mild-tempered baby. She is happy most of the time and when she's not, it's pretty easy to figure out what's going on to help her! Reese is doing well. At first she LOVED holding and kissing Bree. That infatuation has simmered down a little bit. She's gotten a little jealous once in a while, but we try to help her understand what's going on with her little sister and have her help out as much as possible. She's doing better than we could have expected with her little sister; we are sure there will be bumps in the road--there has to be, right? We have managed to venture out quite a bit. Aubree and Reese have been to the park, library story time, play dates, grocery shopping, Mardi Gras in Ladysmith, and to daddy's office together. Thanks to a sling (from Maleigh) and our double stroller (from the PV girls) we are able to get out and manage our adventures quite well! We've also been blessed with one or more visitors each day that we've been home. It's been a blessing having people stop by to see us, because it makes it easier to get through the day with a helping hand and another adult around to talk to!

The picture here is from the girls' first bath together! Aren't they so cute? We LOVE them!!!!
